The internet is full of varied tips for losing weight, but when you start you simply want some guidelines to get you on the way.

Let’s start with food, and what not to eat:

Do away with fatty foods, as these are the ones that are most difficult for the digestive system to break down. Fats are directly responsible for added weight, and while the odd luscious meal should not be disregarded, keep it to a minimum.

Fruit and vegetables may sound like a cliché, but really it’s sound advice as both give plenty of nutrients and vitamins while not adding excess fats to the body.

Eating plenty of oranges and apples, carrots and green vegetables, is great way of both quenching hunger and keeping fit.

Cut Down on Alcohol

Drinking alcohol is never a good idea to tackle weight gain, and while not banned entirely, you must keep to the sensible limits that are recommended.

Waiting for the bus home you may feel a need to quench thirst – don’t buy a pint or a glass of wine, but fruit juice or even water. You will deal with the thirst without any trouble.

Simple Activities

Get out and about, as even simple and sensible exercise is an antidote to excess weight. You don’t need to work out at the gym five times a week, but to be active on a regular basis.

Use your legs for short journeys, rather than the car – the benefits are more than just weight loss, as you save money, too – and take a walk in spare time rather than lounging in front of the TV.

Losing weight is not difficult if a few simple guidelines are followed, and if you start with the above – healthy eating, sense with alcohol and regular exercise – you can’t go far wrong.
